V-Gro started from a simple frustration: growing your own food usually asks for a backyard, a green thumb, and a whole season of patience. Most people have none of the three.
So we built a tower that needs none of them. It stands in about one square foot, feeds a full herb garden from a recirculating loop of water, and arrives as a kit you build by hand. No soil, no season, no guesswork.
The team behind V-Gro
V-Gro is the home and small-farm brand of Nanoco Ventures LLC. We design the towers, develop the growing science behind them, and support every grower who builds one, from a first pot of basil on a balcony to a room of towers on a commercial floor.
The same system runs today in research labs and commercial farms in Japan. V-Gro brings it home.
Designed for aquaponics, proven in the field
The tower was built around an aquaponic loop, where fish and plants feed each other and the plant roots clean the water. Run it that way, or swap in a nutrient reservoir and grow hydroponically. Either way, the same tower.
An independent applied research trial (Singapore, 2023) measured a 23.8% higher yield with our biofiltration protocol. That result is why the design starts with aquaponics, not as an afterthought.
